Driving lessons

Beginner and learner driving lessons

First time behind the wheel, or only a handful of hours in. We start where it is quiet and build every skill in order, so nothing feels rushed.

Overview

What these lessons cover

Beginner lessons are for learner permit holders who are early in their hours, including drivers who have never controlled a car before. The first lesson is mostly about the car itself: seating position, mirrors, controls, and moving off and stopping smoothly in a quiet street. From there we add steering accuracy, intersections, and gradually busier roads. Lessons are in a modern 2025 Hyundai i30 sedan, automatic.

  • One on one, one hour by default, longer bookings available

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need my learner permit before the first lesson?
Yes. You need a current Victorian learner permit to drive on the road, even with an instructor in the car. If you are still working toward the permit, the eligibility checker explains the steps.
How long is each lesson?
Lessons are booked in one hour blocks by default, with longer bookings available. Beginners often do better with shorter, more frequent lessons early on.
What car will I learn in?
A 2025 Hyundai i30 sedan, automatic. It is a modern, well equipped car that is easy to place on the road, which helps while you are still building confidence.
Can a parent sit in on the lesson?
Yes, a parent or supervising driver is welcome to sit in the back, especially for the first lesson.
